WIND
by Arjana Frroki

My energy type was Wind.
The source of wind is Air.

Here are the steps that show how Wind is converted into energy.
  1. The sun heats our atmosphere unevenly, so some patches become warmer than others.
  2. These warm patches of air rise, other air blows to replace them- and we feel a wind blowing.
  3. We can use the energy in the wind by building a tall tower with a large propellor on the top.
  4. The wind blows the propellor round, which turns a generator to produce electricity.

Wind is used today in many ways. It is used in wind farms and also wind generators to help keep batteries charged.

There are also many advantages of using Wind.
  • Wind is free, wind farms need no fuel.
  • Wind produces no waste, or greenhouse gases.
  • Wind is a good method of supplying energy to remote areas.

However, there are also many disadvantages of using Wind.
  • Wind is not always predictable, some days have no wind at all.
  • Wind can affect television reception if you live nerby.
  • Suitable areas for wind farms are often near the coast, where land is expensive.

Wind is renewable because wind will keep on blowing.
